This project aims to assist EPA in examination of noise certificates for new vehicle types and all aspects work, and to review the existing noise control policy of motor vehicle in order to provide improvement programs for Administration's reference; furthermore, this project also continues to study the international noise regulations trends to make timely recommendations and amend relevant domestic regulations to ensure the consistency of noise regulations between Taiwan and international nations.
The project completed several targets to enforce the regulation, including 769 cases of new vehicle noise type approvals, 725 vehicle model emission and noise inspection compliance certification were granted up to 15th August, 2018. The statistics of test reports of new vehicle’s spot checks and quality control comply with the requirements of COP (Conformity of Production).
As for the noise management of motor vehicle, this project assists EPA to hold the meetings, “The Explanation Session of Motor Vehicle Noise Type Approval Certification of 6th Stage Regulations” on 15th June, 2018, and the “Exchange Association of Test Methods of 6th Stage Regulations” on 25th June, 2018; furthermore, this project also arranged and designed the GUI for applications of type approval certification update test systems for vehicle approval granting applications of 6th stage in order to raise the noise examination efficiency and practice the policy of simplified noise examination process.
As for the legal operational process, this project develops new motor vehicle noise certification document calculation and validated work category to form clear division of labor to meet the actual management requirements.
In order to response to international regulations trends quickly, this project continually survey the legislation progress of international motor vehicle noise regulations, and consult with EPA and automobile industries for Regulations Governing the Issuance and Replacement of Compliance Certification and Sample Testing for New Vehicle Model Noise Inspections.
