This is a one-year project. The objectives of this project are： 1. To complete suggestions for industrial wastewater classified rules, and to demonstrate continuous wastewater monitoring system (CWMS) to strengthen water pollution management regulations. 2. To integrate the water pollution permit system with the on-l ine application (reporting) system to enhance the permit system management. 3. To renew and to maintain the wastewater management system, and to upgrade the quality of the database by analyzing the data error . 4. To evaluate nationwide the ef fectiveness of the river pollut ion remediation and ocean pollution control project.
In order to achieve the above goals, the accomplishments are summarized below:（1）After checking 111 factories, we have draft ed the wastewater classified management system.（2）Accomplishing the CWMS software and demonstration together with our suggested drafts on the online reporting rules. （3）Collecting and analyzing the functional evaluation results of 217 wastewater treatment plants to establish a draft version for functional evaluation standard procedure.（4）Through the database analysis, we have assisted EPA in permit renewal management and raised the permit renewal rate up to 60％.（5）By integration and analysis of industrial was tewater management credits, we are going to try to get the “Government Service Quality Award＂.（6）By developing s everal information systems, the project has successfully developed a integrated the air, water, wastes and toxics management in one system that combines the function of alarm sy stem through internet transfer, routine check and punishment informa tion delivering platform. Therefore, the database quality can be improved through the system error analysis mechanism and the annual performance evaluation.
